...and of course THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU AND TO MY TRUE FRIENDS AND CLUBS  who have supported Giro d'Barkada and LUZVIMIN all through these years.

LUZVIMIN RACING TEAM was founded and  conceived in 1991 by Frank Gatdula as a Developmental Racing Team composed of 6 Fil-Am Riders with different specialties in cycling. Manuel Reynante, a professional racer from the Philippines and his son George Reynante, an amateur racer and bicycle mechanic  from LUZON, Michael Almonia, an amateur cyclist from MINDANAO, Tom Alves, a Century Rider from LUZON and Frank Gatdula, a Century Rider from VISAYAS and Roberto Pareja, a USCF Category 3 Rider from VISAYAS. Together, they formed the LUZVIMIN Racing Team and having hailed from the 3 main islands of the Philippines, LUZON VISAYAS and MINDANAO, thus the acronym LUZVIMIN.

From there, the team grew bigger and picked up more Category 2 and 3 riders and have won some podium places over time. We have also seen members come and go with some joining  bigger teams and have upgraded to higher categories.

In 2007, Luis Bugay and Frank Gatdula founded the Giro d'Barkada (Tour of Friends) to bring all Pinoy Riders in California to ride as one. What started as a fun ride with just 50 riders has now evolved into one of the biggest rides in Northern California.
